Conference - Empowering The Prophetic Voice: Trans and Non Binary Theology by Trans and Non Binary People
We're delighted to be able to tell you about our first Conference of the year, taking place at the New Room in Bristol on Saturday 28 March, 10am-4pm.
It's a one-day conference which has been designed to enable trans and non-binary theologians, thinkers and prophets to discuss Christian faith in a contemporary queer context. For too long, trans and non-binary voices have often been excluded from church narratives and often, current conversation is entrenched in the justification of why churches should welcome trans, non-binary and gender non-conforming people. This conference aims to move beyond these apologetic strands, listening to prophetic voices from the trans and non-binary community about a joyful, queer and resilient faith in Christ. The day will use a queer lens to explore theology and Christian practice and give a snapshot into how trans and non-binary people in the UK have much to say about the sacred.
If you attended our popular Extending the table: trans, intersex, gender queer and non-binary people in the Body of Christ in Manchester in 2018 then you may be interested in attending this conference as well. We'll have new speakers, and a few familiar faces as well, and a different programme for you to participate in.
You don't have to be trans or non-binary, everyone is welcome to attend.
