Thea Colledge, Vice-Chair of Trustees, said, 'All of us at OneBodyOneFaith are delighted at Peter's news. He's an outstanding colleague and I know that his gifts as a priest, teacher and pastor, his courage and creativity will be a real blessing as he moves to a new chapter in his ministry. We're equallly delighted that he's going to be remaining with us as our Chair of Trustees. He's played a crucial role in our story over the last year and we've still lots more to do.'
Tracey Byrne, OneBodyOneFaith's CEO said, 'This is a great new opportunity for Peter, and I'm pleased for him as I am for the people of the Isle of Wight. And in terms of the broader picture, it's just great to see an openly gay, partnered priest's gifts being recognised and affirmed in this way. It shouldn't be any kind of a story really - but it is. Let's hope this is a further sign of our leaders being able to see beyond our identity as LGBT people, and embracing the radical inclusion to which our archbishops - and the gospel - have called us.'
