Northern supporters' day, Sheffield
Following the success of OneBodyOneFaith's training day for supporters in the Midlands in early April, members in the north of England will have an opportunity to find out more about campaiging, community-building and network development at a dedicated day in Sheffield. You don't need to be a member of OneBody to come along - you just need to be enthusiastic, enquiring and willing to give some time to finding out more.
Meeting at St Mark's, Broomhill on Saturday 4 November, Keith Hebden of the Urban Theology Union will lead the day, using the Citizens UK model of community organising to empower people, and help them idenitfy the networks and individuals in their context with whom they should be engaging to make change happen. This will also be a valuable opportunity to meet face to face with other activists in the field - perhaps known to one another through social media.
There's no charge for attendance, and we're keen to reach people who don't always find it easy to engage with activities, so if you have any additional support or access needs, including help with the costs of transport, please let us know.
It promises to be a really energising and inspiring day, and we hope to see lots of our supporters there. If you haven't joined us before but are keen to make things happen, do think about coming along. We need your energy and your passion to work together for transformation and change.
