The Revd. Mark Rowland
Mark Rowland is originally from Aberystwyth in mid Wales and has been a Methodist Minister for 10 years, currently serving as Free Church Chaplain at the University of Warwick. Mark lives with his partner Sam, who is also a Methodist minister. Mark is also undertaking PhD studies at the University of Leeds exploring 'a queer theology of holiness' and also has interests in music and liturgy. He trained for ordained ministry at the Urban Theology Unit, Sheffield; Candler School of Theology, Atlanta, GA and Wesley House, Cambridge. Mark is passionate about the inclusion of LGBT+ people in the church and played a key part in the process leading to the Methodist Church allowing same-sex marriage and calling for a ban on conversion therapy. Mark is a founder member of Dignity and Worth which works for LGBT+ equality in the Methodist Church.
