Methodist Action: Ghana
The anti-LGBTQ+ bill currently before the Ghanaian parliament is outrageous and a denial of the image of God in LGBTQ+ people. I am deeply concerned by the support for the Bill from Methodist Church Ghana and its Archbishop the Most Revd Dr Paul Boafo. While we differ in our views on marriage and the ordination of LGBTQ+ people, there should be no question that LGBTQ+ people should not face imprisonment, legal punishment or worse simply for being who they are. I call on the President, Vice-President and Secretary of the British Methodist Conference to speak out against this bill and for the rights of LGBTQ+ Ghanaians to live in peace and safety.
