Charles Edward Lord OBE

Charlie joined the Board of OneBodyOneFaith in December 2024 having been a member of the charity for several years. They worship and volunteer in various roles at Southwark Cathedral, St Lawrence Jewry in the City of London, and Open Table Central London at St John’s Waterloo.  Charlie is currently in the discernment process for ordained ministry in the Diocese of Southwark and serves on the City Deanery Synod in the Diocese of London. 

Charlie has been an elected city councillor in the City of London since 2001, where they are Lead Member for Sport and chair of the committee managing one of the City’s ancient endowments. They are also a Presiding Justice in the Central London Magistrates’ Courts and sit in the appellate jurisdiction of the Central Criminal Court (Old Bailey) and Southwark Crown Court, as well as in the Employment Appeal Tribunal. 

They are currently Deputy Governor (Chair) of Northern Ireland’s oldest charity, The Honourable The Irish Society, and Vice-Chair of Council at Gresham College. Charlie is a former board member of Albert Kennedy Trust (Chair), Amateur Swimming Association (Chair), Anne Frank Trust, British Basketball League, City Bridge Trust, LGBT Foundation, Local Government Association, Local Partnerships (Chair), London Councils, Middlesex County Cricket Club, Northern Ireland Assembly Commission (Audit Chair), Pride Trust, Refugee Council, Trust for London, and Whittington Hospital NHS Trust (Deputy Chair). 

Professionally, Charlie is Board Secretary and Compliance Officer of Global Airlines Limited and provides high level consultancy on governance, stakeholder engagement, organisational design, philanthropy, and inclusion. 

They were awarded the OBE in 2011 for promoting equality and social inclusion.
