Jo Walchester
Jo Walchester (she/her) brings a rich blend of charity governance, community-building and professional strategy to the OneBodyOneFaith trustee board. She has served as a trustee across several organisations, from children’s mentoring charities to launching a cat rescue, and has supported projects focused on inclusion and social mobility. In her day-to-day work Jo is a senior marketing leader within a UK Top 200 law firm, and she’s keen to use her experience in communications, business development, branding, partnerships and organisational growth in service of OneBodyOneFaith’s mission.
A passionate advocate for life’s underdogs, Jo is committed to doing the steady, practical work that helps level the playing field. She came to faith at 30 after developing a friendship with her workplace chaplain, was baptised two years later, and soon after watched her family follow her into faith. While that journey was full of joy, it also opened her eyes to the reality of homophobia within church settings. When she was reconciling faith and sexuality, OneBodyOneFaith became a vital source of support and hope. Jo is proud to stand with the charity and to help shape a future where LGBT+ Christians are fully welcomed, affirmed, and able to flourish in the life of the Church.
Jo is excited to help strengthen and modernise OneBodyOneFaith’s brand and communications, so the charity is recognised for what it is: a powerful, credible advocate for those who love Christ and are loved by Christ exactly as they are — reaching people of every age and background through a clear, welcoming digital presence and strategy.
