Statement in Favour of Scottish Conversion Therapy Ban

As a Christian LGBT+ organisation, OneBodyOneFaith believes that LGBT+ people are unequivocally loved by God. We state again that there is no room in our churches, faith-based organisations, professional care environments, or homes for conversion therapy practices, that seek to suppress a person’s sexuality or gender identity. The cost of these practices is LGBT+ loss of life and long-term harm; harm that is incompatible with the teachings of Jesus, who compels us to love our neighbour. We support a full ban on conversion therapy practices in Scotland, so all may live with equality and dignity.
