OneBodyOneFaith Board: Initial Response to UK Supreme Court Ruling – 16th April 2025

Recent media coverage and political machinations have wrongly scapegoated trans people, causing harm that will have implications for years to come. Yesterday's Supreme Court ruling threatens the LGBT+ community still further. 

Trans, non-binary, and gender-diverse people are beloved by God, created in the image of Divinity that fully encompasses all that we understand by gender, and so much more. The recent harm experienced by some of the most vulnerable LGBT+ people, is not only damaging to individuals and communities, but to the beauty of God’s creative work in humanity.

The Board of OneBodyOneFaith, whilst still taking the necessary time to fully understand this ruling, has concerns that this ruling will embolden those who are already trying to divide the LGBT+ community, and work against our freedoms more generally.

OneBodyOneFaith is a trans-inclusive Christian charity. We continue to work for the safety of all LGBT+ people in churches, and for our joyful flourishing in all areas of our lives. It is our prayerful hope that we are working towards a future that all people, trans, non-binary, and gender-diverse included, can thrive and not just survive.
