Leadership Programme

Through conversations with faith and political leaders, we have discerned that:

• There is a significant gap in the formation and development of leadership skills for faith leaders, 
• LGBT+ Christian leaders are not receiving the support they need, 
• Global leadership on LGBT+ inclusion in the church requires support and innovation, particularly for allies in the Christian church.

To meet these needs, we:

• Have designed and piloted an innovative reflective leadership programme for faith sector leaders in the UK. This learning opportunity is focussed on developing an understanding the impact of marginalisation and harm within faith contexts, and identifying how each individual can contribute to the necessary changes to safeguard and protect the most vulnerable in faith environments,
• Have commissioned research on the unmet needs of LGBT+ Christian leaders, with over 60% noting that their needs are not being met. A roundtable to share the results is being scheduled for the Winter of 2025, with a working group to be convened in 2026 to implement change,
• Have co-designed inspiring and unique leadership engagement work in Canada, South Africa and Australia. Through these symposiums and programmes we have encouraged and equipped leaders, both LGBT+ and allies, to continue their efforts in creating safer, more joyful faith environments for LGBT+ people.
